Fall Lip Product Haul

*Post contains affiliate links*
Hey guys! I know posting has been very sporadic, and I'm really trying to figure out a blogging schedule that fits around my daughter's routines. It's been kinda tough lately figuring things out with her, and this blog has been neglected. Please bear with me as I figure things out! Anyway, I decided to do a little lip product shopping when Ulta was having an extra points deal, as well as a 20% off coupon. I'm all about Fall and love everything about it! The colors, smells, foods, cooler weather, it all puts me in a good mood.

As you can see, I got quite a few lippies to play with! Maybelline was buy one, get one 50% off, so I picked up the matte shade called Toasted Truffle, and a Color Sensational lipcolor in Deepest Cherry. I've been wanting to experiment with nude shades and see what works with my fair skin, and of course I needed something dark for Fall.

Revlon was also buy one, get one 50% off so I chose Mauvy Night and Certainly Red. I love mauve shades so much, and I love trying different shades of red. Certainly Red may not be cool toned enough for me, but I have yet to try it out.

I don't own very many MAC products, and most people say a lot of good things about their lipsticks. I got Party Line and Creme in Your Coffee, both of which are cremesheens. Both shades are gorgeous, and I cannot wait to rock these in Fall and Winter!

The e.l.f. Matte Lip Colors have intrigued me since they came out. They're so inexpensive, and I have heard pretty good things about them. I picked the shades Praline and Wine, which I hear great things about. I definitely look forward to trying these out finally!

I love me some lip products, and would love to know if there is anything you've picked up recently that I need to try!

Review: Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor - Devotion, Addiction, Obsession

Hey guys! A few weeks back I posted an Ulta haul where I purchased these Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colors. I picked up three because they were buy 2, get 1 free and I was pretty intrigued with these as I had heard mixed reviews. After trying them a few times, it' safe to say that I do like them!

According to Revlon:

Revlon's Ultra HD Matte Lip Color is a lightweight, high definition, matte color with a moisturizing velvety feel.

Some of the benefits of these lip colors are:

- 100% wax-free, gel formula
- Plush velvety applicator
- Creamy mango and whipped vanilla fragrance
- Many high definition shades to love

What I absolutely love about the Ultra HD Matte Lip Colors is the applicator. It's thicker towards the base, and tapers to a point which makes it super easy to apply. The formula of these lip colors are very soft, and they definitely are a gel formula as stated above. The color selection could be a little better in my opinion.

I picked up the shades Devotion, Addiction and Obsession. Devotion is a medium pink-y mauve shade, Devotion is a pretty berry fuchsia, and Obsession is a hot pink that kinda scares me, and I still have yet to try it honestly.

I absolutely adore the shade Devotion! For me and my skin tone, it's the perfect everyday nude shade. It goes on smoothly and isn't patchy. The first time I tried Addiction, I had some issues. It was very streaky and clung on to all my dry patches. One tip I have with these is to make sure your lips are exfoliated and prepped with a waxy lip balm, like EOS or the Jack Black balms in the blue tube. I tried Addiction another day when I wasn't so frustrated and my lips were less dry, and it went on so much better. The color is beyond gorgeous and is perfect for Fall and Winter, but you can of course rock it any time of year! These aren't a true matte as others have said, but over time, they do dry down. Work in very thin layers, and it goes completely matte on me within about 30 minutes. Since they don't go completely matte for a little while, it makes this formula feel very hydrating on the lips, and they stay hydrated throughout the day, unlike other brands that make my lips super dry. They aren't transfer resistant either, but I'm not so bothered by that.

Now for the scent. I've seen reviews where people cannot stand it and unfortunately, I'm also one of those people. If they took out the mango and just left it as straight vanilla, I'd be happier. That being said, once applied, you can't smell it.

Overall, I really do like these! You can go overboard with applying too much at once, but like any liquid lipstick, it takes practice and patience to get it right. These retail for $8.99, and I find that to be a fair price considering you really need a small amount to get an opaque finish. If you can get past the weird scent, are willing to be patient while applying, and don't mind it being not completely matte, I think you would like these alot!

Have you tried the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolors? What do you think of them?

Ulta HAUL! Revlon, Makeup Revolution, Lancome & More!

Hey guys! So, I made a promise to myself that I would go on a no-buy at the start of 2016. I wanted to go three months without buying a single beauty product. Aside from buying shampoo that my husband and I ran out of, and my Ipsy bags that I get every month, I hadn't bought myself anything beauty related since December 26th, 2015. I was incredibly proud of myself for going a whopping 72 days without buying anything! On day 73 however (March 8th), I was tempted by an email I had gotten from Ulta a couple days prior saying that Platinum members received 3X the points, as well as free shipping on every order. Since I'm a cheapskate lately, I decided to place a few separate orders to be able to utilize the $3.50 off of $10 coupon code, and get the most bang for my buck. I spent much less than I thought I would, because a few things were out of stock that I originally wanted. Now that I've rambled enough, here are the products I purchased!

Makeup Revolution is one of those UK brands that I always hear pretty decent things about. My local Ulta doesn't carry the brand, but they have them online. I wanted to try out one of their eyeshadow palettes because they're only $10 ($6.50 with the coupon!), and all of the ones I saw online were really pretty, so it was a tough decision. I decided to go with the Run Boy Run palette as it seemed the most wearable to me. It definitely has more of a Fall vibe to it, but I love the color selection, and I also appreciate that the very bottom row is all matte shades.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Catrice brand is from Germany. I always heard Tati of Glam Life Guru on YouTube talk about how much she loved this brand, and when they were finally available at Ulta, I wanted to try something. The line is very inexpensive, and I picked up the Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner and the Liquid Metal Eyeshadow in What Do You Sea? I was a littler nervous to buy the eyeshadow because alot of people who bought them online, received them broken. Luckily, mine was spared, and I cannot wait to try it out! I didn't really need another face primer, but anything that says it will help smooth pores, I'm all about that life.

I've heard many different things about the newer L'Oreal Colour Riche Eyeshadow singles. Some people have loved them, others not so much. They're super inexpensive, and they were buy 2, get 1 free (I was also able to use the $3.50 off coupon!), so I figured it wasn't a huge hit to my wallet if I didn't like them. I picked up the shades 208 Violet Beaute, 203 Cafe Au Lait, and 204 Quartz Fume. Cafe Au Lait looks like the perfect matte transition shade, and I think Violet Beaute is a stunning deep purple with little flecks of shimmer.

The last few bits are lippies! Revlon was also buy 2, get one free and I had been really wanting to try their Ultra HD Matte Lipcolors. There are people who say that these don't completely dry down matte, but honestly, I'm cool with that because I don't want my lips to dry out real bad the way other matte liquid lip products cause. I decided on the shades Addiction, Obsession, and Devotion. I can't wait to try out Obsession for the Spring/Summer! Devotion seems like a great everyday color and Addiction seems like a beautiful berry shade for Fall.

The last lip product I got is from Lancome and it's their Color Design Matte Lip Crayon in the shade 320 Partner in Crime. I didn't plan on purchasing a high-end product, but any Lancome purchase was 5X the points. So on top of the 3X the points for Platinum members, this product alone gave me nearly 175 points. I couldn't say no to that, so in my shopping cart it went. I adore the beautiful fuchsia color this is, and I think it'll be great for Summer.

Overall, I'm very happy with what I purchased! I ended up gaining a ton of points from everything, and I'm hoarding those for something special I want to buy later on. I know I keep saying it, but I'm very proud of myself that I didn't spend nearly as much as I thought I was going to. I'm going to continue trying to not buy as many products as I have in the past, as I'm trying to really just declutter my life and use up what I have, and that includes skincare, bodycare, makeup, etc.

On that note, are you doing any kind of spending ban? Have you broken it at all? Also, let me know if you'd like reviews on anything here! I'm trying to get together products that I've had for a while that still need testing out and reviewing.

What I Got For Christmas/ My Birthday HAUL!

*Links below are affiliate links*
Hey guys! I hope everyone who celebrates had an awesome Christmas, and has a very happy New Year! December is always an odd month for me because my birthday is on the 8th, so presents that are given to me nowadays are for both that and Christmas, which I'm honestly fine with! Since I'm now 27 (hooray for being in my late 20's now...not!), I never really ask for certain presents anymore. I prefer either gift cards or cash so I can get something I know I'll enjoy and use. I also do treat myself to some things because, why the heck not?! So today I'll be sharing with you what I ended up getting with my birthday/Christmas money!

I had gone to Walgreen's hoping to find new products that I've been hearing about, but had zero luck. They did however have a major clearance sale going on, so I took some time browsing. I picked up the Wet n Wild Fergie Take on the Day Mattifying Powder that was on clearance for just a couple dollars. I'm hoping this is decent, but with it being marked down, it's probably getting discontinued.

I also picked up one of the Megalast Liquid Lip Colors in the shade Red My Mind. It's a beautiful shade in the package, but that's it. It's an awful formula and flakes off my lips almost immediately after applying it. Luckily, this was just over $1 on clearance, and now I understand why every shade in this line was marked down.

I've never tried the popular Wet n Wild lipsticks that everyone talks about, so I picked up the shades Smokin' Hot Pink and Cherry Picking. I always thought these were $1.99, but at my Walgreen's they were $2.49. No big deal really, so if I end up liking these, I'll probably buy more!

Burt's Bees wasn't on sale at all, but if you bought 2 of their lip balms, you got 1,000 points so I got the scents Honey and Coconut & Pear. I love lip balms, and Burt's Bees makes some great ones.

Next up is Sephora! I had gotten the VIB Rouge giftcard in the mail for $25 off of a $50 purchase, and my mom also gave me hers to use as well, so I placed 2 separate orders, but lumped everything together. On one of the orders I had to buy hair ties because I wasn't quite at $50, but somehow I lost them already.

Anyway, I ended up getting the Philosophy Holiday Handbook hand cream set, which has the scents Cranberry Medley, Fresh Cream and Raspberries & Cream. I purchased a set of these last year as well and love them, so when I saw they had another set this year, I knew I had to have it. Fresh Cream is such a light, but amazing scent and I'm very happy to have it in hand cream form!

I have no reason to be buying more eyeshadow palettes, but the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons is one I just had to have! I had been hearing about it for months, thought the packaging was adorable, and the fact that it smells like chocolate always seals the deal. I have the other two chocolate bar palettes as well and color selection wise, I think I like this one the most.

Kat Von D has been killing it with her makeup line within the past year, and everything I've tried so far, I've loved. I bought yet another Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Bauhau5 and a Metal Crush Eyeshadow in the shade Raw Power. You all know my love for her liquid lipsticks, but I've been dying to try out the Metal Crush Eyeshadows. I was torn between this and the shade Thunderstruck, but went with Raw Power because I love my burgundy's!

The birthday gift this year came from Nars and it included a Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Cruella, a Satin Lip Pencil in the shade Rikugien, and since I'm VIB Rouge, it came with an extra little sample of their Larger Than Life Eyeliner in the shade Via Veneto. I hear that both of the lip pencils and the eyeliner are great, so I'm excited to try them out!

Last but not least, I made a trip to Ulta. My lovely mother-in-law gave me a giftcard, and my dad gave me some birthday money. I also had the coupon for 20% off, which was good on everything I purchased! I had seen a review on YouTube of the Stila Trust in Love Gift Set, which includes an eyeshadow palette, a deluxe sized lip glaze, and a deluxe sized sample of their HUGE Extreme Lash Mascara. The wand on the mascara reminds me so much of the Too Faced Better Than Sex, which is probably my favorite higher end mascara, so we'll see if the Stila one compares.

Real Techniques was on sale, so I picked up two of their Shading Brushes. I don't have these yet in my Real Techniques brush collection, but I love the size of these and think they will be good for applying shadow to my hooded lids.

I've decided I wanted to delve into the world of lip liners, so I went a little ham with what I bought. I ended up buying three Essence lip liners in the shades 15 Honey Berry, 07 Cute Pink and 08 Red Blush. These babies were only $1.49 and with the coupon I had, it made them super inexpensive. I always hear good things about these lip liners too, so I have high hopes. I also purchased two other lip liners, one from NYX in the shade Cabaret, and one from Rimmel in the shade Rapture. The Rimmel lip liner was marked down to clearance, which may mean it's being discontinued.

Next up is a new Revlon eyeshadow palette called Not Just Nudes, and the one I purchased is Romantic Nudes. They had another one that seemed a bit more warm toned, so the purple-y mauve-y pink shades in this stood out to me more. I love how drugstore brands are coming out with eyeshadow palettes, so I hope this is decent quality.

The last product was the birthday gift from bareMinerals, and it's a Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in the shade Birthday Babe. I don't think I've tried these glosses before, but I love the color of this, and it isn't very sticky either.

That's everything from my birthday and what I got for Christmas! Did you get any makeup/beauty goodies that you're enjoying?

September 2015 Favorites

Hey guys! Today I'm going to be sharing with you some products I've been loving this past month. I was going to originally film a favorites video, but I didn't like how it turned out, plus I still feel pretty awkward talking to a camera. Anyways, here are the products!

The first product I've been loving is the Proganix Quench Coconut H2O + Electrolytes Conditioner. I do love the shampoo as well, but the conditioner is freakin' amazing! It makes my hair feel like silk, it makes it smell incredible, and I've noticed my hair feels cleaner longer when I use it. Amazing stuff!

Next up is the wondrous Tangle Teezer. I purchased this a little while ago because I've always heard good things. I have pretty fine hair that gets really tangled, especially after I wash it, so I wanted to see what the hype was about. This baby has been a miracle for my hair! I no longer struggle to get those little knots out, and I think it's been really helping to strengthen my hair as well. My husband has even stole this a few times since he's got incredibly thick, curly hair that can turn into dreadlocks if he's not careful, and he said he loves it. I will be buying his own soon!

Jaclyn Hill makes me want to buy EVERYTHING. Seriously, that girl can sell ice to an Eskimo. When I heard that she was collaborating with Becca Cosmetics in bringing out her very own highlight, I was excited for her, but not overly excited to buy it. Then she started using it in her videos and talked about it non-stop. I then had to get it, despite me not really being into highlighters. Champagne Pop is stunning, and surprisingly nice for pale girls like myself. I do have to use a light hand though, otherwise it will look like a stripe of gold on my face. So beautiful, and so worth the price.

Next up is Revlon's lipstick in the shade Cherries in the Snow. I had posted this lipstick in my Favorite Fall Lipsticks post, and this is truly such a stunning red. It's got more of a fuchsia tone to it, which I feel is great for my skin tone. If only I had bought this lipstick sooner, because I think it may be my favorite red ever.

My last favorite is from Ardency Inn, and it's their Modster Manuka Honey Pigment in the shade Hell. I cannot get enough of this shade when I want a darker bronze smokey look! It looks so gorgeous over the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. I did a review of the two shades I have here, and I kinda bashed them a bit saying that the shade range isn't that unique. while they might not be, this shade gets more beautiful the more I use it. I now want basically every color they make.

What were some of your favorites last month? I'd love to know!

Ulta & Sephora Haul!

Hey guys! I've had a few products set aside to do a haul post for a little while now, and today I'm sharing with you what I purchased! I went to Ulta because I had a 20% off coupon to use, and I only got one item from Sephora, but it's an exciting one in my opinion!

I didn't NEED dry shampoo, but I was wandering down the aisles and saw that Batiste had little sets with a mini travel sized dry shampoo, for the same $7.99 price tag! I don't really travel for long periods of time, but if I end up going somewhere for a couple days, the little cans are perfect. You all know my love for Batiste is very strong so I got my favorite Tropical scent, then decided to try out the Cherry scent. Even if I end up not liking the smell of Cherry, I won't care because this is hands down the best dry shampoo I have ever tried.

Nyx typically has some amazing lip products, and I already have one of their Intense Butter Glosses in a shade name I can't remember, but it's a fuchsia pink color. I wanted to get some colors that were good for Fall because 95% of my lip product collection are shades of pink. I ended up with the shades Toasted Marshmallow and Spice Cake. While both of these shades are incredibly pigmented and gorgeous, I had a hard time applying these without looking like I was drunk. Maybe I'm applying too much, but these are really hard to work with. The colors are so pretty though, so I'm willing to work with them more.

Since I was on the hunt for more Fall shades to add to my ever growing lip collection, I decided to try out two of the Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks in the colors Cherries in the Snow and Plum Velour. Believe it or not, but these are my first ever Super Lustrous lipsticks! I'm sure I've said this before, but I always hated lipsticks until about 2 or so years ago. Now, I'm really into them and want more, lots more.

The product I got from Sephora is a Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lipstick in the shade Elderberry. This is from their limited edition Frozen Berries collection and boy is it stunning! I even put this lipstick, along with the two Revlon lipsticks, in my favorite Fall Lipsticks post, which you can see in action here. This shade is incredibly vampy for my fair skin, but I love it. It takes a bit of working with the product to make it look nice, but it's totally worth it. The other little Bite box was a 250 point perk with a little baby lipstick and lipgloss.

Is there anything you've hauled recently? I'd love to know what else I need to try out!

My Top 5 Favorite Fall Lipsticks!

Hey everyone! I'm so happy that Fall is almost here, and I'm really excited to be sharing with you today my favorite Fall lipsticks! What's even more exciting is that this post is a collab with with my friend Steph over at Warrior Makeup. I've known Steph since we were in elementary school, and she's so sweet and nice, so I'm happy to be doing this collab with someone I've known for nearly 20 years!

First up is the Maybelline Color Whisper in the shade Berry Ready. When the Color Whispers first came out, I was pretty excited to try them. They're said to have pure color pigments suspended in a weightless gel. I couldn't agree more with that statement! These are so soft feeling on the lips and just glide on effortlessly. This particular color, Berry Ready, is alot more pigmented than I thought it was going to be. When I originally purchased it, I thought it was going to be a very light berry color, but it really packs a punch. It can be sheered out as well, but I ended up liking how pigmented it looked with my fair skin, so I load it on. Unfortunately, I don't think Maybelline sells these anymore, which is a shame because the formula is incredibly hydrating.

Now, when I think of Fall, going into Winter, I think of red lips. My all-time favorite red has got to be the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in the shade Standout. I've always had an incredibly hard time finding a red I liked because I'm super fair, but I have cool undertones. Looking for a red that didn't look orange on me was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Until Revlon brought out these Matte Balms. I had read reviews of this particular shade, and many had said it's a straight up neutral red that would look good on anyone. I took the chance and purchased it. This truly is a total neutral red. It doesn't have that yellowy orange tone, but there's no blue or purple either. It's completely neutral, and I'm in love. If they ever get rid of this shade or the Matte Balm line in general, I'll cry. Then I'd buy up all Standouts they have in stock.

This Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick on the shade Plum Velour is a newer edition to my collection. I have never owned a Revlon lipstick in the Super Lustrous line until I purchased this (and one other, which you'll see next!). This is a shine formula, which I'm assuming means it's a more sheer formula. I'm not complaining about that at all, because when I first tried it out, it was love at first swipe. I was amazed at how creamy it felt, and I like how the shade is a bit more of a muted plum color, and not as dark as it looks in the bullet. It's not very buildable color wise, but to me, that makes it easier to just swipe it on and go without having to think about it.

This is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in the iconic shade, Cherries In The Snow. I've heard about this shade for years and years, and everyone loves it. People have said that it's the "ultimate red," but I find this to have a fuschia/raspberry tone to it. If sheered out, it looks like you just came in from the cold or ate a cherry Popsicle. This particular lipstick will probably be my go-to red this year as it's in the creme formula and it feels incredibly hydrating on the lips.

I had to go a little vampy for this post, and the lipstick here is Bite Beauty's limited edition Matte Creme Lipstick in the shade Elderberry. This is from their Frozen Berries collection and is described as a deep purple shade. I personally really love this color, but it takes some time to work with, so patience is required. I recommend exfoliating your lips well, then applying a lip balm that's kinda waxy feeling as it'll act as a primer. I'm not a fan of lip liners, but it might be a good idea to use one with this or other shades like it. Playing with different looks to go with this lipstick is going to be pretty fun, but trying to not look more like a vampire is gonna be interesting.

Those are my favorite lipsticks for Fall! I'd use these shades all throughout Winter as well, since they all would work. As you can tell, my love for Revlon is pretty strong right now. Also, make sure to check out Steph's post here, and follow her everywhere!

What are your favorite lipsticks or lip colors for the Fall time?

March 2015 Favorites!

Hey guys! It's time for me to show what products I've been loving in March. I was so sick yesterday when I wanted to get this post up, but it's only the 2nd, so no big deal really. Anyways, lets see what products I have to share.

The first product is the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay, which I already did a review on here. If you already read the review, you know how much I love this stuff! It makes my skin look and feel so nice and it's probably my favorite mask I've ever used. Also, it's super inexpensive too!

Next up is the Hard Candy Glow all the Way Ombre Baked Blush in the shade Punch, which I did a review on here. That's a mouthful of a name, but it's an awesome blush! I love the shade on my fair skin, but in my review I did say it doesn't last through a full work day. I don't mind that personally, but for only $7, it's not a huge deal to me.

The Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in the shade India Intrigue has been my go-to colorful lip shade. It hasn't really felt like Spring yet here, so I wanted to add a bit of color to my makeup, and this is great. It's a beautiful berry-ish pink shade and I love it. I have a few of these and did a review on another shade called Barcelona Nights in September of last year.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper, where have you been all my life?! You guys, this makes eyeliner so stinkin' easy, and I'm still a newbie with eyeliner. I usually hate putting it on, mainly because I suck at it, but this eyeliner is amazing. I can do a wing without messing up, and that's saying something. I'm thinking of doing a review on this soon.

The last two products have been my go-to neutral lip when I wasn't using the Revlon stain. The first product is the NYX lipstick in the color Ceto. I'm pretty sure I got this in a previous Ipsy bag and initially wasn't impressed. However, when I top it off with the Starlooks lip gloss in the shade Guilty Pleasure, it makes a beautiful combination! I also think I got the gloss in an Ipsy bag and again, wasn't too impressed. It just goes to show you can't really judge something until you try it!

What products have you been loving?

Ulta Haul!

Hey everyone! I did some shopping at Ulta recently, online and in-store. I picked up a few goodies so I wanted to share them with you!

These products are purchases in-store when I went shopping with a friend a couple weeks ago. The first thing I picked up is the Organix Quenched Sea Mineral Moisture Surge Treatment. Now, you know I love the Coconut line within this brand and alot of their products were on sale. This jumped out at me since I'm trying to take better care of my hair more. I hadn't really paid attention to this particular line so I did look it up online after I purchased it, and it's gotten some bad reviews. I'm still going to try this out, but I am wary now. Luckily it was on sale for about $5, so hopefully it won't be a huge loss if I don't like it.

I also picked up two of the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponges. Real Techniques was BOGO 50% off that day, and I love these beauty sponges alot so I picked up two. I think these are honestly really nice dupes for the Beauty Blender, although I do use both. I figured I'd just buy some more of these since they were on sale.

The last product I bought is the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub in the Coconut Lime scent. This little jar was at the checkout area and it was just so darn cute, plus it smells like coconut, so I couldn't pass it up.

Ulta recently had a 40% off sale on a few of their brands they carry, so naturally I had to buy some things online. I got a good deal on these too. I had a bunch of points to use toward this purchase, plus I had a $3.50 off a $10 purchase and there was free shipping at $25. After all the discounts and everything, I only spent just over $20, including tax! Woohoo!

Anyway, the first product I got was the Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Custom All-in-1 Nude Palette for Face and Eyes in the shade Natural. I've heard some pretty good things about this little palette and I think I'm mostly going to use it for eyeshadow. I have pretty oily skin, so using highlighter on my face typically doesn't look too good after a couple hours.

I also got a Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Bush, also by Physician's Formula, in the shade Rose. I honestly thought the packaging was adorable and it was only about $7 on sale, so I thought I'd try it.

An Ulta haul would never be complete without buying some Nyx Butter Glosses. I picked up the shades Cupcake, which I've wanted for ages but is usually sold out, Peaches and Cream and Red Velvet. I love these glosses so much, they're probably my favorite glosses in the drugstore. Also, at only $2.99, who can pass up a deal like that?!

I added another Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain to my collection and the color I got is called India Intrigue. It's a really pretty berry/pink color but I have yet to try it out.

Let me know if you'd like reviews of anything here! Also, have you bought anything lately?

Review: Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in 015 Barcelona Nights

Hey guys! A few posts ago, I did a haul where I bought 4 of these Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains, and for a good price too! Today I'll be reviewing the color Barcelona Nights, which is probably my favorite out of the ones I purchased.

Revlon says that these Moisture Stains drench lips in glossy wet color, it's an ultra-light creamy lipstain with Vitamin E and aloe, and that 88% of women felt lips were instantly moisturized without stickiness. The Revlon website shows 11 shades but I have read that there are 12 and depending on where you buy them, they range between $8 and $10.

I really like the design of this brush. It's like a flat paddle shaped brush that's super soft and picks up alot of color out of the tube. I have to note though, and I don't know if it's me, the brush or the product, but the ones I have go on streaky and I have to work with it a bit to get the full color on my lips. I'm thinking it's me because I always have to put on a lip balm before any lip color or my lips just dry out instantly. Once I get the color on the way I like, it looks great!

Barcelona Nights is definitely a warm color which I surprisingly like since I'm more of a cool toned girl. To me this is a bright berry color and the consistency of it is pretty nice, like a gel-creme formula. I feel like I get good wear out of this and the shine of this product lasts about 3 to 4 hours on me. The stain it leaves behind is nice too but definitely not as bright as this swatch.

I really love how shiny these look! Overall, I'm pretty impressed with this product. This color is a bit hard to work with and you definitely need a mirror and patience for it to look blended evenly. I can go through a whole work day with only having to reapply once which is definitely a good thing for me because I don't have the time to be constantly reapplying lip products. I typically just reapply after lunch and I'm good til the end of the day. Would I recommend these? Sure, as long as there's a sale! At around $10, I don't find that particularly cheap and like I said in my haul post, I got these on sale at Ulta with a coupon and points were used so I only spent a little under $20 for the 4 that I have.

Have you tried these Moisture Stains? What do you think of them?

Mini Drugstore Haul feat. Walgreen's and Ulta

Hi guys! So I know I'm not really supposed to be doing any beauty shopping for a while but there were some sales going on, and if you know me, you know I love a good sale! Anyway, I did a little shopping at Walgreen's and placed an order online from Ulta. Lets see what goodies I got!

Fist up is Walgreen's. This week Walgreen's has certain Wet n' Wild product for only $2 with your Walgreen's card. I went in really only looking for the Fall 2014 Limited Edition 5 pan shadows. They typically retail for $3.99 which is already a steal, but when I got up to the register, they were only $2 each! I picked up the palettes called Melrose at Night and Smoke and Melrose. They had two other ones, one called High Waisted Jeans which I didn't care for as I don't really like blues on me, and the other one was called Angels in Aubergine, which just looked too harsh for my skintone. Of course I went with the neutral ones, surprise surprise.

Lastly from Walgreen's, I picked up two of the Vaseline Lip Therapy balms. The first one is Rosy Lips which I had been tying to find but had no success til now and I also picked up the Cocoa Butter one. I was originally only going to buy one but if you bought 2, you got an extra 2,000 points with your Walgreen's card. I'm excited to try these, especially in the Winter when my lips are drier than dry.

Now we have Ulta, which I'm really excited about. I had heard over and over about these Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains and wondered what the fuss was about. I don't own many Revlon lip products but was definitely curious about these. I had gotten an email from Ulta saying they had free shipping on orders of $25 or more. Free shipping for Ulta is typically $50 so I always wait for the $25 promo. Revlon also had a buy 1, get 1 50% off deal, which is why I bought four of these, plus I also had the code for $3.50 off of a $10 purchase and I used a bunch of points I had saved up, so with tax everything came to just under $20, and I still got the free shipping! Now keep in mind these typically cost between $7 and $10 depending on where you get them. Drugstores in my area carry them for $9.99, my Ulta carries them for $8.99. I basically got two of these for free! Can't complain about that! Anyways, I picked up the colors LA Exclusive, Rio Rush, Barcelona Nights, and Shanghai Sizzle. I've already tried three of the four and I must say, I'm very impressed! I plan on doing a review of these so I won't go into much detail here, but these are definitely really nice lip products.

That's everything I picked up! What have you purchased recently?

Beauty Haul! Feat. Makeup Geek, Sephora, Walgreen's and More!

Hey everyone! I hate to admit, but I've done a bit of beauty shopping. I should really be saving my money for more important things (like rent and bills) but I see so many lovely products, I just can't help myself. I think after this haul I post, I'm putting myself on a bit of a spending ban. I'm going to try and do it until August 1st. That'll be 4 whole months of no beauty shopping! I picked August 1st because my husband's birthday is August 6th, and I'm hoping to get him something nice. Lets hope I can go that long without buying anything, unless it's absolutely necessary! Anyways, lets get on with the haul!

I finally decided it was time for me to buy a Z Palette along with some Makeup Geek eyeshadows! I love this hot pink Z Palette so much, although I'm not sure if I want to de-pot eyeshadow singles I already have. I don't feel brave enough I guess!

I decided to play it safe and buy six neutral colors. The colors I ended up getting from left to right are Shimma Shimma, Beaches & Cream, Creme Brulee, Moondust, Hipster and Taupe Notch. I've already given a few of these colors a try and I must say, I'm definitely impressed. They're great quality for only $5.99. If you want the pan in the little containers they normally come in, they're $7.99.

Oh, Sephora. How I love thee! I was so excited when this Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette came out, yet I held out on buying it for a while. I needed another eyeshadow palette like I need a hole in my head.

This palette is wonderful! It's got the perfect amount of shimmer and matte colors, and there are great neutrals with just a bit of color. I left the plastic sheet that came with it in the palette so I can remember the names of the shades. This also has that chocolate scent that their Chocolate Soliel Bronzer has, which is amazeballs! This has quickly become a favorite of mine and I reach for it often.

Then I went to Walgreen's. I had some coupons and points to use, and I found a couple other goodies in the makeup section! I was browsing through their clearance bins when I found one of the Maybelline Eyestudio quads in the limited edition shade, Fall Temptation. This was only on clearance for $5.50 so I snagged it up! There was another quad that had purples in it, but it was opened and messed with.

Then I decided to pick up the new Milani Lip Intense Liquid Color in the shade Fiery Coral. I tried this on already and holy Nicki Minaj, is it pink! Seriously, the first thing that came to mind was Nicki Minaj because she loves her Barbie pink lips. I'm still on the fence of whether or not I like this, but it was on sale, so I wanted to try it.

Next up is the Dollar Tree. I tend to like looking in dollar stores for some reason and I came across these Physician's Formula Baked Collection Wet/Dry Eye Shadow trios. Honestly, I never remember seeing these in store, but only because Physician's Formula tends to be a little more expensive than other brands, so they're not normally a brand I seek out. As you can tell above, I already opened one to try, and I like it, but don't love it. These are good if you're just starting out with makeup because they seem really neutral, but they're not incredibly pigmented so you won't mess anything up.

I also bought a quick dry top coat that apparently is by Seche Vite, and three Sinful Colors nail polishes in the colors Beautiful Girl, Cream Pink and Ciao Bella. Not bad for a dollar a piece!

Last but not least, we have a purchase from Big Lots! They have so many darn nail polishes on sale, it's ridiculous. I found three of the Revlon Colorstay polishes in the colors Spanish Moss, Indigo Night, which I did a NOTD post here and Rain Forest. All of those polishes were only $1.50

They also had a bunch of the Sephora by OPI polishes strewn all about on the shelves but only one caught my eye, and its in the shade Shiny Dancer, which cost me a whopping $1.80.

That's everything I purchased within the past month or two! I know I went a little nail polish crazy, but I've been in the mood to do my nails more, so now I have a few more options to choose from. If anyone wants to see reviews of any products I've shown today, please let me know!

Have you hauled anything lately?

Also, please be sure to check out my blog sale!

NOTD: Revlon Colorstay Indigo Night

Hey guys! I did my nails yesterday (so excuse the horrible job I did. I'm still rubbish at painting my nails!) and I'm so happy with the color and everything, so I wanted to share!

I picked up the Revlon Colorstay nail polish in the shade Indigo Night at Big Lots yesterday for only $1.50. I have no idea if this is a discontinued shade, but I'm surprised I actually bought this. Blue isn't typically a color I go for, but something about this stood out to me. I figured for just over a buck, if I don't like it, it's no big deal. The first thing I love about this is the color. I just love how this works with my fair skin. Once I put it on my nails, I was amazed at how pigmented this shade is! I probably could've gotten away with only doing one coat, but I did two just to be safe. The brush is interesting too. No matter how much polish I tried to get off of the brush, it still picked up alot and I was able to coat all nails on one hand without having to dip it back in. That can either be a good thing or bad thing. Since I'm not the best at doing my nails, the polish did get a bit messy for me, but I was able to work with it.

Overall, I really am so happy with this nail polish! I did get a couple more Revlon polishes during my little shopping trip, so I have high hopes for them as well!

Have you tried this nail polish before? If so, what do you think of it?

January 2014 Favorites!

Hey everyone! This is the first favorites of the year, and I'm really excited to share what I've been loving! I've been able to try out some new products that I've been really happy with and have also rediscovered an old favorite, so lets get into it!

First, I'll start with hair products. I've been absolutely loving the Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner. These make my hair feel so soft and clean and I love how they smell! I purchased these huge bottles a long time ago at BJ's Wholesale, it's like a Costco or Sam's Club, before my husband and I moved in together. Finally glad I decided to use these!

Then we have a Batiste Dry Shampoo in the scent Floral & Flirty Blush. I'm surprised I like this scent as much as I do. If you read my blog, you know how much I love Batiste. I was unsure of this scent, only because I'm not the biggest fan of flowery smells. This one, however, isn't bad or overbearing at all! After I've rubbed this all in my hair, it leaves such a faint smell. I catch whiffs of it throughout the day and it doesn't give me a headache or anything.

Oh Naked3, how I love thee! I can't get enough of this palette! I did a separate review here so I won't go into detail here about how wonderful this palette is. I just love it!

While putting together my Urban Decay palette collection post, I forgot how great the original Naked Palette is. Even though Naked2 is more up my alley because it's cooler toned, I can still work with this and make the look wearable. I've actually gotten compliments while wearing shades from this palette lately, so it must be a good one!

Time for some lippies! I've been loving the Buxom Full Color Gloss in the color Ruby. I apologize for this, but I believe this came in a kit of different products from the holiday's maybe a year or two ago. I pulled this out again because I love the deep berry/burgundy color for the Winter season. This is a little sticky but I get decent wear time out of it.

Next up, we have the Revlon Matte Balm in the color Standout. I did a review of this here so again, I won't go on and on about this amazing lip product. If you don't own any of these, seriously, go out and try just one! This is one of the best lip products I've tried!

Finally for lips, we have the NYX Butter Gloss in the color Vanilla Cream Pie. I know I've hauled these before, but haven't really talked about them. They kinda got lost in my lip product bag and I finally got a chance to pull one of these out to try. I love this color! It's the perfect pinky nude for me and it feels very nice on the lips. It's not sticky to me at all, but the color doesn't last very long at all. I think that's ok because I'm fine with reapplying anyway.

That's everything I've been loving in January! What were some of your favorites?

Review: Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Standout

Hello everyone! Today I'm bringing you a review on a newer product that came out from Revlon, the Matte Balm in the color Standout. Now I did a haul where I purchased two of the Lacquer Balms, but this one is quite a new purchase that I've loved since I first swiped it on my lips!

I was grocery shopping and when I got to the makeup aisle, here these were on the end! Since I had purchased the lacquer balms and liked them, I thought maybe I should try a matte one, even though they're not my favorite. The packaging is just like any other twist up chubby lip pencil, but I hate how it's "sealed". It just has this tiny little sticker on it, so anyone could really get their grubby hands on it and mess it up easily. Luckily, this one looked like it hadn't been touched, so I went for it.

I was always terrified of reds. I'm just so pale and finding a good red shade has been beyond hard for me. Standout here, is quite amazing! It definitely isn't orange based (which I find looks terrible on me) but it doesn't look blue based, so I'm guessing this is a neutral base. For me and my pale skin, this red is absolutely perfect! I wore it to work and got compliments out the wazoo on how good it looked. I've never had that happen to me when wearing any kind of lip product.

Now the lighting in my bathroom makes this color look more orange but it looks more like the swatch above. I truly can't be more happy with this color! I have to say, it is a bit drying, but that's expected from a matte product. I just apply a lip balm before applying this to help combat the dryness. Wear time isn't terrible. I probably got about 3 to 4 hours of wear with this and that's with me drinking a ton of water while at work too. This goes on very smooth and isn't patchy at all, which was very impressive.

My lighting is terrible! Gosh this picture truly doesn't do this color justice. Other reviews I've seen with lip swatches show that it's definitely more red than this, so I'm sorry my lighting sucks! Anyways, I may have to pick up some more colors because this one is so impressive! They are expensive at $8.99 each but I'm sure there will be some kind of sale where it's BOGO 1/2 off or something. This product gets two thumbs way up from me!

Have you tried any of the matte balms yet?

Birthday/Christmas Money Haul! Sephora & Ulta

Hey guys! So today's post is going to be a haul! I know I said I was on a spending ban, but with my birthday and Christmas being in the same month, I had saved the money I was given to buy some makeup goodies! Lets see what I got.

Starting off with Sephora, they were having an online sale of their clearance items after Christmas of 20% off so I decided to purchase two items! The first is this Urban Decay Anarchy Face Case.

This is a pretty neat palette. When you open up the top portion, you get 5 different eyeshadows that are called Redemption, Fray, Vaporize, Provocateur, and Revolt. I love these colors like every other UD eyeshadow but my two favorites are Fray (second one in) and Vaporize (third one in). For my skintone, Fray is perfect for the crease and blending out any harsh edges. Vaporize is just such a stunning metallic gray-ish taupe color that I actually get alot of use out of. You also get a decent size of their 24/7 liner in Perversion, which is personally my favorite black eyeliner.

When you open up the second layer, you have two blushes called Fetish and Quickie. *Cough* Anyways, aside from their raunchy names, they're beautiful colors. Fetish is a mauve-pink and Quickie is obviously a bright pink. The highlighter, called Craze, isn't my favorite. I'm not the biggest fan of yellow-toned anything, so I'm not sure if I'll get much use out of it.

I'm obsessed with the Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Scandal! I put this on and was amazed at how pigmented and beautiful it was. It's described as a bright metallic raspberry shimmer, and that's just spot on. I love how this looks with my fair skin, and with a very neutral eye, it's perfect! I'm thinking of doing a review on this sometime.

The last product I picked up from Sephora is the Lorac Mint Edition Palette. It also came with an exclusive Couture Shine Liquid Lipstick in the color Retro which is a nude-pink shade that's supposed to flatter all skintones. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks a bit light for me, but smells amazing, like cocoa powder!

Inside, you get 8 eyeshadows, 4 matte and 4 shimmer, along with a blush and highlighter. The highlighter in this palette is more my style because it's more of a pinky tone. The blush is a peachy-pink and I love blushes that color.

I won't go into too much detail since I think I want to review this, but the matte eyeshadows didn't really impress me. I bought this for the mint shade, but that wasn't up to par with Lorac's other matte shadows, aka the Pro Palette. The shimmer shades are actually very nice! The taupe shade in the upper right hand corner is a beautiful lid or transition color depending on the look you're doing!

Now onto Ulta! I've been wanting to add to my Real Techniques brush collection because they're great quality but they're pretty affordable. When I was in the store, they were sold out of literally every Real Techniques brush except for two or three, so it was slim pickins. I did want to get the Setting Brush so I was glad they had it! I wanted this primarily for setting my under eye concealer.

I then picked up the much talked about Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. My skin has been crazy lately. It's super oily and broken out one day, then the next day it dries out and I can't control that either. With all my breakouts, my usual zit gel I was using wasn't working as well, so I decided it was time to try this bad boy since I've heard amazing things. Again, I want to do a review on this, but I will say, this product is really nice!

I then picked up the newer Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms. They did have a few of the matte balms, but they were all tampered with. My biggest gripe with these is that they're only sealed with a tiny little sticker. I think that's just nasty, but I did find two that I wanted to try (and didn't seem tampered with!). The first one is called Enticing, which is a beautiful red shade. I put this on right away after I bought it, and I actually got compliments! This is a rare red that somehow works for my pale skin. The second color I bought is called Coquette which is a bright pink shade. I know it looks bad in the picture, so I apologize!

Last few products! I decided it was time for me to buy some Prestige mascara. I picked up the popular My Blackest Lashes, but then I also wanted to try My Biggest Lashes. I have yet to open these but I'm pretty darn excited I own these now!

The last products I picked up are these Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Paints in the colors Chestnut Taupe, Manganese Purple, and Rich Russet. I'm pretty sure these are new products because they were on a different display away from the other Rimmel products. These babies are flipping awesome! You gotta work fast with these because they dry quickly, but I put some on my lids with the applicator, then take a stiffer blending brush to buff away harsh lines. These literally dry down like paint, but they make an awesome shadow base! I haven't worn these by themselves yet, but I have a feeling they'll last throughout the day.

That's everything! I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and let me know if you've hauled any new products lately! :)
